INSURANCE AGENCY MERGER STRENGTHENS
FIRM’S LEADERSHIP POSITION IN INDUSTRY
NEW YORK (Jan. 1, 2002) The new year brings a new hire for Mystic Capital Advisors Group, LLC, the financial consulting firm that opened shop in October 2001. Mystic Capital Managing Director Kevin Donoghue is pleased to welcome Mathew K. Klossner as Senior Vice President overseeing the company’s Northeast Region Practice based in New York.

“Matt Klossner is a wonderful addition to the Mystic Capital team, bringing with him significant experience in the financial services and insurance industries, respectively,” says Donoghue. “We look forward to his professional contributions, as he utilizes his expertise in assessing business strategy, determining the value of companies, and servicing clients with a solution-oriented focus.”

Prior to joining Mystic Capital, Mr. Klossner spent seven years at Merrill Lynch in New York City, where he worked as an analyst in their Corporate and Institutional Client Group. He also spent several years working for Frost-Klossner-Swan, Inc., an independent insurance agency based in the Southern tier of New York State. Klossner is NASD Series 7 registered, and has a MBA from Columbia University and a BA in Economics from Syracuse University.

“I am thrilled to be part of the Mystic Capital team, whose enthusiasm, determination and optimism for growing their company while exceeding clients’ expectations is simply contagious,” says Klossner. According to Donoghue, the addition of a Senior Vice President just three months after the formation of Mystic Capital is indicative of the company’s sound business proposition and promising future. Indeed, Mystic Capital just announced the completion of its first merger, effective today, of Dill, Joyce & Thresher, Inc. (DJT) of Avon, CT and Wertheim-Eilers, Inc. (WE) of East Hartford, CT.

Mystic Capital Advisors Group, LLC provides a broad range of financial consulting services to the retail insurance and financial services industries. Founded in October 2001 by three former employees of The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc.’s M&A consulting subsidiary, Mystic Capital has offices in New York City, Denver and Charlotte. With more than 20 years of combined experience in mergers & acquisitions among the founding partners, Mystic Capital is an emerging firm that’s poised for a leadership position in the consolidating marketplace. ANNOUNCES NEW SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
NEW YORK (January 10, 2002) – The year 2002 is off to a promising start for Avon, CT-based insurance consulting firm Dill, Joyce & Thresher, Inc. (DJT), whose President Paul Mikkelson proudly announces the merger of DJT and Wertheim-Eilers, Inc. (W-E).

The merger, which became effective January 1st, further solidifies DJT’s position as one of the area’s leading personal and commercial insurance consulting firms, specializing in employee benefits and property and casualty insurance solutions.

With the growing demand for client servicing, this merger arms DJT with the additional professional support and resources needed to remain at the leading edge of the retail insurance industry, says Mikkelson

The merged firm, which continues operating as Dill, Joyce & Thresher, Inc., offers clients a wider breadth of product offerings and expertise in both benefits and property and casualty insurance solutions.

We view the merger as a means of providing further depth and back-up for our clients, stated CEO Roger Joyce. Our clients will now have access to enhanced health and disability services.

The Hartford, CT-based W-E is noted for its expertise in employee benefits and individual disability products. It is the endorsed Agency for the following: Connecticut State Medical Society, Tolland County Medical Society, Windham County Medical Society, Middlesex County Medical Society and New London County Medical Society.

As was the case for DJT, according to Bob Eilers, W-E’s primary impetus for the merger was also a focus on client service.

Wertheim-Eilers has been providing group health and individual disability insurance for many years,” says Eilers. “With this merger comes the opportunity to offer property and casualty insurance services to our clients.

Mystic Capital Advisors Group, LLC – an emerging firm with years of experience – provided intermediary consulting services to both agencies. This represents the first completed merger for Mystic Capital since the company’s October 2001 formation.

For more information on the merger, please contact Paul Mikkelson at 860-674-9445 or Bob Eilers at 860-247-0800.
